Senior Financial Group Welcomes Haifa George to HR

Senior Financial Group is thrilled to welcome Haifa George to our team! As SFG’s first full-time Human Resources Manager, Haifa is responsible for managing all aspects of HR including talent acquisition, benefits, strategic planning, compensation, policies & procedures, employee relations and development, payroll, etc. She has served in HR in a variety of industries of the past 20 years and has worked for companies such as ORNL, Covenant Health, Citigroup, and more.

Originally from Morristown, TN, Haifa then moved to Nashville where she earned her B.A. in French from Vanderbilt University. She then landed back in Tennessee in 2000 after several years of working in New York and Connecticut following graduation.

After spending time at home following the birth of her twins, she is thrilled to be back in the workforce now that they are in school. She says this experience has helped her gain a new perspective of the needs of working parents and the importance of a healthy work-life balance.

Haifa believes in the importance of focusing on helping others meanwhile being true to oneself in the process, and she has already made her mark on our team and company culture as a result of her outlook. Her goal is to bring positivity to the workforce by implementing policies and programs that shape SFG into an employer of choice.

In her free time, you could find Haifa at home with her kids and husband, Doug, or out walking the greenways. She enjoys making music, painting, reading, and spending time on her screened-in porch. We asked her the following questions to get to know her a little better…

Favorite local spots: “Founders Park, Concord Park, Ijams Nature Center, Water Into Wine, Bearden Beer Market, Scruffy City Hall”

Favorite TV shows: “Stranger Things, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schimdt, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, 30 Rock, The Good Place, Star Trek (all of them), The West Wing, and M*A*S*H”

Favorite quote: “It’s supposed to be hard. If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. The hard…is what makes it great.” — Jimmy from A League of Their Own (1992)

Favorite restaurants: “East Japanese, Nama, Northshore Brasserie, JC Holdway, Sticky Rice Café, Chez Guevara, Scrambled Jake’s. I love sushi, fine dining, home cooking, and breakfast!”

Her ultimate goal: “To have a happy life, make a difference, and sing harmony with my kiddos. I would love to be the Partridge Family.”

We are so fortunate to have Haifa as part of the team!
