  1. My grandparents have thought about moving into an assisted living center for a few months now, and they asked me to help them find out what would be best for them. I’m glad that you talked about pricing for an assisted living center, and how they range from $36,000 to $72,000. I think they would probably like an assisted living center on the lower end of that spectrum, but we’ll have to do some shopping around for them and make sure we get a good place for them to enjoy together.

  2. The cost of Assisted Living is expensive, especially when unplanned for. People do not realize the alternative is more costly (in more ways than one). We highly suggest people that obtain long-term care insurance. Since it can be difficult to qualify or afford, we offer alternatives!

  5. Financial abuse of an elder is the illegal or improper use of a senior s money, property, or assets. Some examples are cashing an elderly person s checks without them knowing or authorizing it. Signatures can also be forged or the elderly person may be deceived into signing certain documents. Some abusers go so far as to outright steal from an elderly person.

    1. You are right! We hate to see anyone be taken advantage of, especially Seniors who have worked so hard their entire lives and deserve a peaceful retirement. Thank you for your comments.

  6. You do NOT have to purchase a prescription plan with a supplement plan. The insurance companies want you to believe that, so they make money off that, too. I have one that charges me nothing and handles all my prescription needs. Also, I feel a supplement plan should include things that an Advantage plan has, such as transportation, dental, vision, etc., because we have to pay a good amount each month in addition to the cost of Medicare, while Advantage plans, many of them, don’t charge any additional premium for these benefits.

    1. Thank you for your comments Lindsey. All Medicare Supplements vary on the services they cover and what they charge. Most supplements do not include prescription drug coverage. It is great that you found a plan that works for you. Our goal is to help our clients find the perfect plan for their unique situation.

  7. Medicare part D covers prescription drugs which provides medication from private and branded companies. If you’re looking for Supplement plan should include things that an Advantage plan has, such as transportation, dental, vision, etc or mainly advantages that you can cover under Part B.

  8. I will be 62 on January 10th and need to know how early do I plan on setting up a Medicare Plan and supplemental plan? My wife will be one year behind me as well. Thanks for your help! Tim

    1. Hello Tim, We recommend taking a Medicare Seminar to learn about your healthcare options approximately 6 months prior to your 65th birthday. You won’t be eligible for Medicare until you turn 65 unless you have a qualifying condition such as ALS or End-Stage Renal Disease. If you are retiring at 62 and need health insurance, the Marketplace is an option. Please contact us if you need assistance.

  9. Hi! Thanks for the informative post! I’ve been looking into the ins and outs of what Parts A and B cover and don’t cover, and it’s quite a quagmire. Your list of things not included is really helpful, but I’ve also been trying to figure out what supplement plans might include some smaller extras, and whether they’re worth it. For example, something like Life Alert – I was looking into it for my mother and saw in this article that things like this aren’t covered: https://www.ez.insure/2020/01/does-medicare-cover-life-alert/ but you could get supplements that have discounts for extras like this? What are your thoughts? Thanks!
