Power of the Purse

SFG had so much fun sponsoring and attending the Power of the Purse Auction/Luncheon benefiting CAC Mobile Meals this afternoon at the Rothchild Conference Center!

Special shout out to the National Contracting Center staff for putting so much effort into making this extremely successful event happen. Every dollar that was raised is going directly to providing meals to home-bound seniors in our community.

Mobile Meals serves hot, nutritious noontime meals to seniors at least 60 years of age who are unable to cook for themselves and have no one to cook for them. More than 60% are over age 75. Most live alone. Approximately 825 people receive meals every weekday delivered to their homes by volunteers who also check on their health and well-being. On average, 80 volunteers per day serve Mobile Meals clients.

$3.40 provides one meal; $74.00 provides meals for one month to one senior; one year of meals is $884.00- which is a bargain compared to public-assisted nursing home care.
