Senior Companion’s Annual Snow Flake Ball

snowflake ball articleCity View Magazine covered the wonderful Office on Aging Senior Companion Snow Flake Ball.

Roughly 300 guests were dressed to the nines for the 7th annual Snowflake Ball on January 24 at the Kerbela Temple. Hosted by the Knoxville- Knox County Office on Aging, the event serves as a yearly fundraiser for the local chapter of the national Senior Companion Program, a Senior Corps program that provides companions to at-home seniors for free. The Al Curtis Orchestra performed, as attendees—including local senior dance groups—cut a rug on the dance floor. Dinner and gourmet desserts followed. More than $20,700 raised goes directly into funding added hours of service for the program. —R.W.
